Spring Back to Health

April 2013 eNewsletter

Although we’re still not feeling it, we’ve officially turned the page which means Daffy Weekend is just around the corner.  For me that also means Spring cleaning – yes around my house, but more importantly it means cleaning up my diet, shedding “baby Winter” from my midsection and detoxifying my system.

The place I start is the same you’ve heard from everybody else because it’s true and it works: simple dietary changes, increasing my intake of fresh fruits and vegetables, especially various greens, decreasing everything else, especially starches and animal proteins.  This one simple shift helps to create a more alkaline internal environment, priming the body for cleansing.  There are a lot of changes I’ve already made over the years such as eliminating processed foods, white sugar, fried foods, etc., but there’s always room for improvement.  I will also replace one meal a day with extracted fruit and vegetable juices – my favorite is beet, carrot, kale, celery, ginger, apple and lemon.  If you’ve never done a detox, this simple detox routine might be a gentle way to begin your cleansing process.  This basic shift can have profound improvements to your health.  In addition to improving what goes in, it’s also very important to improve the avenues of elimination so that the toxins have an easy way out which can include exercise to promote sweating, and colonics, enemas, and/or cleansing supplements.  Temporary symptoms that accompany detoxification may include: headaches, irritability, skin rashes, diarrhea, and fatigue which may indicate that the toxins are not being eliminated fast enough.  Remember to drink plenty of water (1 to 1.5x your body weight in ounces daily).

This month I would like to introduce you to a few supplements that may help you hydrate, cleanse and rebuild your body systemically this Spring.  I’ve found that Megahydrate and Oxy-Powder are great individually, but work synergistically together increasing levels of free, activated hydrogen and oxygen respectively.  Together these two supplements address the most fundamental-level of physiological health, namely the body’s ability to eliminate toxins and take in nutrients.  Pretty much all physiological ailments stem from either over-toxicity or malnutrition of the cells.

Megahydrate is a cutting edge dietary supplement boasting one of the highest antioxidant potentials (ORP) on the planet. It was created by physicist and medical doctor Patrick Flanagan as a way to increase cellular hydration by reducing the surface tension of water within the body, essentially making the water in and between our cells wetter and more bioavailable.

The idea is that with optimal tissue hydration and surface tension we are able to more efficiently eliminate toxins and metabolic waste and at the same time increase the delivery of important nutrients which create healthier cells and a healthier body.

MegaHydrate touts numerous benefits including: providing much-needed negatively-charged hydrogen ions; slowing the aging process through hydrating the cells and increasing the length of our telomeres (key in both aging and cancer growth); increasing absorption of nutrients; helping to counteract the consequences of caffeine and alcohol intake; augmenting the “Zeta Potential” in our blood cells, allowing more room for toxicants such as bacteria, fungus, viruses and pollutants to be expelled; and boosting overall antioxidant levels.

Additionally, it can provide natural pain relief from headaches, sore muscles, and inflammation of the joints. Studies show that MegaHyrate increases energy production (adenosine triphosphate or ATP) by up to 4 times.

Oxy-Powder helps to gently cleanse the entire 25 to 30 feet of the digestive tract. It is designed to clean, oxidize and reduce the amount of hard impacted fecal matter in both the small and large intestine.  Oxy-Powder adds oxygen to your bloodstream and bowel, naturally and toxin-free. It uses time-released oxygen to turn the solid compaction into a liquid or gas.

The name Oxy-Powder was chosen to describe the process and power of transmuting a preparation of ozone and magnesium oxides into a stabilized oxygen-releasing powder to support health and longevity.  Its unique ingredients target the intestinal and digestive tracts and then eliminate harmful bacteria, toxins and other impurities that compact the colon. These also eliminate compacted fecal matter also known as fecal mucoid plaque that may inhibit  the proper absorption of nutrients and elimination of waste.

Oxy-Powder may be helpful for individuals experiencing constipation, diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and other conditions of the colon, as well as those with poor digestion and difficulty assimilating nutrients.

Beyond that, as I stated in my last newsletter, we ALL live in an increasingly toxic world, and our systems are regularly challenged by an overly acidic internal environment, heavy metals and radioactive toxins, GMO (genetically modified foods) that we aren’t even aware we’ve been ingesting, and numerous other immune system challenges – collectively, this over toxicity is at the root cause of most of our chronic complaints, big and small, even those we would never associate with our intestinal health.  Our skin and digestive tract form one contiguous outer-layer which is our bodies first line of defense.  Improving its integrity should be our first step towards to better health.
